 Why do we call ourselves “Kahuak”?

“Akon – Kahuak” was the first name given to the well-known Aconcagua Mount. It has been translated into Spanish as "Centinela de Piedra” (The Stone Sentinel). “Akon” means sentinel and Kahuak means stone.

The Huarpes, one of the most important civilizations that has inhabited the Cuyo region in Argentina (provinces of Mendoza, San Juan, and San Luis), spoke “Quechua”. The mountains were their place of worship. Since the Huarpes were very much in contact with nature, they were the first to discover the Aconcagua (6,962 m.s.n.m.), the highest summit in America.

We have chosen the name Kahuak because to us it holds values such as strength and permanence. Those are the values on which we focus to be able to offer a first-rate service according to every person’s likes and means.
